Dr Lam Pin Min has been the Senior Minister of State for Health and Transport since 1st May 2017.

He was first elected as a Member of Parliament for the Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the 2006 General Elections. He was re-elected in 2011 and subsequently in the 2015 General Elections as the Member of Parliament for the Sengkang West Single Member Constituency (SMC).

Dr Lam was the Deputy Chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Health from July 2006 to July 2008, before assuming the post of Chairman from May 2009 to May 2014. He was subsequently appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Health from August 2014 to April 2017.

Dr Lam was trained as an Aviation Medicine Specialist and had obtained his postgraduate Diploma in Aviation Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 1997.  He served as a Flight Surgeon with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) from 1995 to 2003.

He also holds a Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) from the National University of Singapore and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). As a trained surgeon and specialist in paediatric ophthalmology, he worked at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital from 2005 to 2013, before going into private practice in 2014. He is currently a Visiting Senior Consultant at the Singapore National Eye Centre.

Dr Lam is married with two daughters.

Jeremy Nixon is now the Global CEO of a new liner shipping company, Ocean Network Express (ONE), which is headquartered in Singapore, and will be commencing full operations from April 2018.

His career originally started at sea as a navigating officer, followed by a Bsc (Hons) in Maritime Commerce at Cardiff University (UK), and then four years at the Port of Felixstowe. In 1990 he completed an MBA at the University of Warwick (UK).

He has been actively engaged in the container shipping industry for the last thirty years, and has held senior management positions with P&O Nedlloyd, Maersk Line and NYK Line, in Europe, North America and Asia.

From April 2008 he joined the NYK Group as Managing Director of NYK Line Europe Ltd, based in London. Then in 2010 he transferred to Singapore to become COO of NYK Line’s new Global Liner Management Division, based in Singapore. In 2012 he was promoted to CEO and went on to become a Corporate Officer of the NYK Group. In July 2017 he resigned from NYK to head up Ocean Network Express, which is a new joint venture company founded by the K Line, MOL and NYK Group companies.

Has held global leadership positions in BP, BG Group and Shell. Has a BSc(Hon) in Psychology and is a member of the British Psychological Society. Joined Shell in October 2016 and has shaped the plans that will deliver the next generation of value enhancement opportunities across shipping and maritime activities. Advocates an approach to value that will require a new way of thinking, being open to learning from other industry sectors, applying the latest technologies, working with the maritime industry in a new and progressive way and forming stronger alliances with strategic partners.


Fergus Eley

Fergus was appointed Manager Freight Strategy and Planning at BHP in July 2016. BHP is a leading global resources company whose purpose is to create long term shareholder value through the discovery, acquisition, development and marketing of natural resources essential to world growth and development. BHP’s marine freight requirements, in aggregate, make them one of the largest bulk charterers in the world.

Leading the BHP Freight strategy, Fergus is accountable for coordinating both short and long-term plans to ensure safety and productivity value creation across the various BHP commodity supply chains.  Innovation and the use of technology are key enablers in BHP leading a new era of safety and efficiency across the shipping industry.

Fergus has worked across the marine construction and natural resources industries. Prior to joining BHPs Marketing business he has held positions within BHPs Iron Ore business in Australia, with a focus on supply chain management and infrastructure projects.

He graduated with honors in Engineering and Commerce at Monash University and holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.


Kam Poh Yuen

Kam Poh Yuen is Assistant Vice-President of Group Technology at PSA International, part of a key team that drives planning and strategy in automation and technology for the PSA Group.

He has 20 years of digital technology experience with PSA and possesses broad-based knowledge and expertise in port operations solutions, ERP solutions, and strategic IT planning. He was one of the pioneers in PSA’s Computer Integrated Terminal Operations System (CITOS) and the development of the Flow-Through Gate System. He presently leads blockchain-based projects.

Prior to PSA, Poh Yuen had nine years of industry solutions experience with Oracle, working closely with global ports, shipping, logistics companies, system integrators and vendors, with a focus on Transportation Industries Application and Technology Solutions.
He was previously the Director of Operations and Support at ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems), responsible for related projects pertaining to Homeland Security Systems.

Poh Yuen has an MBA and MSC (Technology Management)–Gold Medalist from the NationalUniversity of Singapore and BSc (Computer Science) from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Technical Committee for Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies in Singapore, as well as a member of Singapore Computer Society.

Capt. Rajesh Unni is a master mariner with more than 25 years of experience in the shipping industry. He holds a degree from LBS College of Advance Maritime Studies Research, Mumbai. He is the co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Synergy Marine Pte. Ltd, Global United Shipping (S) Pte. Ltd and Alpha Ori technology Holdings Pte.Ltd. Driven by his vision to provide world-class services based on openness, trust and reliability, Captain Unni founded Synergy in 2006. Under the capable leadership of Captain Unni, Synergy has built a reputation for reliable service and a commitment to safety and client satisfaction.

Capt. Unni also sits on the board of North of England P&I Association (2nd largest maritime insurer), Asia Pacific advisory committee of Lloyd’s Register, DNV-GL, Indian Register of Shipping(IRS) and Indian National Ship Owners’ Association (INSA).

He has been a great champion of driving change through technology and innovation. His primary focus though has always been to create a social impact. In Singapore, Synergy group is actively involved in giving back to society, working with old age homes, intellectually disabled homes and orphanages. Capt. Unni is also an avid marathoner, sports enthusiast and mountaineer.

Mathieu Girardin

Mathieu brings to his role over a decade of well-rounded corporate experience and a high-level portfolio that spans across multiple countries, sectors and markets in blue-chip companies. Previously, he was Deputy Chief Trade Officer with American President Lines and Senior Line Manager of CMC CGM of Latin American and Caribbean services.

Having joined the Group since 2013, Mathieu has an extensive track record in line, trade, cargoflow and ship management. Prior to that, he was in management and strategy consulting with RISE Council and Accenture.
Mathieu graduated from ESCP Europe in 2005 and INSEAD Global Executive MBA in 2018.

Mike White manages the Global Trade< Digitization organization for Maersk. He is responsible for a global team which aims to establish a global platform to facilitate trade and create more transparency, efficiency and security within supply chains. GTD is a major step in our commitment to solve the problems our customers face in getting real-time visibility in their supply chain and the lack of standards of moving goods internationally.

Mike White built his career at Maersk and prior at P&O Nedlloyd, joining the organization in 1990 before the company was acquired by Maersk in 2005. For nearly two decades, he has held a number of leadership roles across many geographies. Prior to his current role, he served for 8 years as President of Maersk Line’s liner business< in North America. Prior to this, he was Chief Executive for Maersk Line Central Europe managing activities for 12 countries. Before that, he was responsible for Maersk Logistics, Damco, Maersk Customs Services Inc, The Gilbert Company and Bridge Terminal Transport. From 1990-2005, Mike held a number of senior management positions including President & CEO of P&O Nedlloyd North America, President of Farrell Lines, and Director and Chairman of Port Newark Container Terminal. He graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1981, and has attended several executive programs at Harvard Business School and IMD Business School in Switzerland.

Mike is a licensed Customhouse Broker. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for Virginia Wesleyan University.

Mike lives in New Jersey, United States, with his wife and two children.


Inge André Sandvik

“Accelerating our digital transformation, Inge brings with him a unique combination of digital entrepreneurship, business curiosity and a large network within the digital eco-system,” says Thomas Wilhelmsen, group CEO.
Inge have in the last 20 year been working in global tech, internet and consulting companies and have broad start-up experience from co-founding 3 VC backed companies. His focus has been mobile and digital platforms. He co-founded Soundrop in 2011 and led the process of teaming up with Spotify building a real-time web platform that enabled shared listening and collaboration in Spotify. Soundrop quickly became one of the most popular apps on the Spotify platform and the company brought in USD 5,6 million in VC funding led by Northzone. The company later sold its popular playlist business in Spotify to X5 Music, a Warner Music company.

Inge was prior to Soundrop in the internet browser company Opera Software as Head of Content and Opera Mobile Store. He co-founded and was CEO in Numo who built a global platform for aggregating phone directories. The company won the Mobile Innovation Award at Mobile World Congress and successfully launched services in 5 markets in partnership with Telco’s, Nokia and SonyEricsson.

Inge started his entrepreneurial path back in 2004 as co-founder and CEO in Mobile CTI. A company who was a pioneer in smart phone apps and that created Norway’s most popular mobile app, 1881 Mobile. The company was the first to launch “see who is calling” on unknown incoming callers and won several awards for its innovation. The company was acquired by Opplysningen 1881, a Telenor company. Inge have over 10 years experience from international tech and software companies such as Telenor, Oracle, Compaq/HP, PwC Consulting. Inge is also an advisor/mentor to entrepreneurs and start-ups both in Norway and abroad. He is also co-founder and organizer for Product Tank Oslo, who is part one the worlds largest community for product managers available in more than 100 cities.

Arjan Kampman

Oskar Levander

Oskar Levander joined Rolls-Royce in 2012 as VP Innovation, Engineering & Technology, Marine and is today SVP Concepts & Innovation, in the Digital & Systems value stream. Prior to this, he spent the majority of his career at Wärtsilä where he held various roles including Director, Concept Design, Marine Lifecycle Solutions. He graduated with honours from Helsinki University of Technology in 2000, with an MSc in Naval Architecture.

Oskar has worked mostly in the development of new ship designs, machinery and propulsion concepts for various ship types and emerging marine technologies. Today, he drives the development of ship intelligence concepts and the introduction of remote & autonomous ships. In 2011 Oskar was included in “Lloyd’s List 2011 One Hundred Most Influential People in the Shipping Industry” and in 2017 he was nominated as the #1 Technology Leader by Lloyds List.

Hideyuki Ando

Hideyuki Ando is senior general manager of MTI, the R&D arm of NYK Line. After he joined MTI in 2005, he leads many R&D projects regarding energy efficiency and safety in ship operations. His team has contributed to development of NYK’s IoT platform SIMS (Ship Information Management System) and to utilization of IoT and Big data for ship operations optimizations. He was honored with Best Youth Award JASNAOE (Japan Society of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) in 2003. Prior to his current job, he was an associate professor at the University of Tokyo. He holds a Doctor of Engineering.


Yoshikazu Kawagoe

Yoshikazu Kawagoe is Managing Executive Officer of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., responsible for the Technical Division. He is an expert of marine technology.

Before assuming his current role in April 2016, he was appointed as Executive Officer of MOL in June 2012. He served as General Manager of the Technical Division of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. from June 2011 to June 2015, responsible for all ship technical matters.

Prior to that, from December 2004 he served as Deputy General Manager for seven years in the Technical Division, responsible for Ship Planning and Development, and Ship Design. Additionally, he has extensive experience with LNG Carriers.

He joined Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. in April 1983.

A native of Tokyo, he graduated from the Faculty of Engineering (Naval Architecture), Tokyo University, in March 1983. He has a wife and one son.

Mr Kerry Mok is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of YCH Group Pte Ltd as of August 2017. YCH Group provides logistics and supply chain management services including supply chain consulting, warehousing, freight forwarding, and transportation services. Mr Mok has over 20 years of experience in the supply chain management/logistics field with more than 13 years in senior management/board level roles.

Before joining YCH Group, he was the Acting CEO and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Goodpack. Goodpack is a global leader in steel intermediate bulk containers, multi-modal, reusable metal box system that provides packaging transportation and storage systems.

Prior to joining Goodpack, Mr Mok held the position of Managing Director, Strategy – Operations at Accenture and was the head of the ASEAN Supply Chain Strategy practice for the firm. Previously, he served as the Senior Vice President – Global Head of Technology Sector and APAC Technology Sector & Service Logistics with DHL. As a senior member of the DHL management team, Mr Mok was also a member of DHL’s APAC Management Board, a member of the Global Customer Committee for DHL Supply Chain and a steering committee member for Deutsche Post DHL’s Global Technology Sector Board.

Mr Mok also contributes on public service platforms. He is currently serving as a Member of the Future Economy Council Trade & Connectivity Sub-Committee. He has also previously contributed as a Member of the Working Group for the Ministry of  Communication and Information’s Infocomm Media Master Plan 2025 initiative. Mr Mok holds a First Class Honours Degree in Accountancy from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.


Argyris Stasinakis

Argyris Stasinakis is Partner, Board Member and responsible for Business Development at MarineTraffic. Between 2005 and 2014 Argyris served as Chairman of WOW group, a digital agency, active in European and Middle East markets, offering state of the art e-commerce and e-marketing solutions.  An active technology consultant since 1998, Argyris has performed in government and private European organizations, focusing on information systems integration and restructuring. Argyris was awarded BA Hons in Physics (1993) and DPhil in Particle Physics (1998) from the University of Oxford, where he also held a Rhodes Scholarship.

Clara Ng is Head of Group Procurement at China Navigation Company Pte Ltd (CNCo) based in Singapore, the Marine division of Swire Group. CNCo currently operates over 100 vessels and manages both container liner and handy size dry bulk vessels.  She has been working in Procurement for 20 years in Aviation and Marine sectors and has led cross functional teams in procurement projects throughout Singapore and Hong Kong under Swire family.  She joined CNCo in 2014 to lead Group Procurement Strategy and Bunker Procurement Transformation Program.  She holds a Master degree in Transport Policy and Planning and is a fellow of The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply.


Hans Rook

The International Port Community Systems Association (IPCSA) 

Hans has worked  in the  transport  and  logistics  sea  trade  sector for 47  years.  He  started  his career  at  a  shipping agency  and,  having  gaining  experience  in  all  facets of  import and export services,  he  was appointed  to set  up the ICT  function  within the company. He  is also one of the  gurus on EDI  standardisation  –  he  joined UN working groups  to establish UN/CEFACT EDIFACT messages for  the  global sea  trade  industry. Having  been  general manager  ICT within the  shipping  agency,  Hans  was  asked to join the  Rotterdam group  of experts for the  set-up of  the  Port Community  System in the Port of  Rotterdam. Since  then he has been working  for Portbase  Rotterdam,  and he  is today  Portbase’s  senior  advisor on  strategic goals.  Portbase  is one  of  the founding  members of  IPCSA.


Svein David Medhaug

Svein David Medhaug is an experienced Senior Engineer employed at the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA), where he has been responsible for E-navigation since 2009.  With this position Medhaug chairs the international correspondence group for E-navigation in IMO and leads the work titled: “Guidelines for harmonized display for navigation information received via communication equipment”. Medhaug is also project manager for all work relating to autonomous and remote vessels at the NMA, an area which is central to Norway’s proactive stance regarding innovation and promoting a more sustainable, safer and cleaner marine industry. With a background as Deck Officer on both oil and LNG tankers in the Norwegian merchant fleet, Medhaug has hands on experience and also a very strong interest in innovation and new technology.


Howard Fireman

Howard Fireman is Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at ABS, responsible for leveraging the latest advancements in technology to drive the development of innovative products and services that promote safety and improve the delivery of class services in the marine and offshore industries. Since joining ABS in 2013, Fireman has also served as President of the ABS Nautical Systems® where he oversaw significant advancements in the software and achieved growth in every sector.

Fireman came to ABS from the U.S. Navy, where for more than 35 years he was recognized as a distinguished leader in the areas of naval ship design, hull form optimization, total ownership cost, total ship systems engineering, design integration, research and development and fleet operational support.

Fireman holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from the University of Michigan. He also received a master’s degree in technical management from Johns Hopkins University.

Fireman is recipient of many industry awards, including the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Admiral Taylor Medal, American Society of Naval Engineers Gold Medal and University of Michigan College of Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering).

Capt. Fredrik Karlsson currently holds the position as Innovation Coordinator at R &D department at Swedish Maritime Administration (SMA). He began his career at sea as an electrical engineer in 1995. After a few years he decided to switch sides, at 2001 he took a master mariner degree at Chalmers University of technology in Gothenburg and sailed as a deck officer for several years.

2008 he joined Swedish Maritime Administration in different digitalization and development projects and then become the project manager for various innovation projects. Recently as conceptual designer in the ongoing 50M euro Sea Traffic Management – Validation project. He’s also in charge of development and operation of the Swedish Maritime Administrations Ship handling and VTS simulator, delegate at IMO, a member of the IALA e-Navigation and VTS committees and is an expert in EU commissions group on Digital Transport and Logistics.

He is leading the IT department to develop an innovative, robust, and secure information technology environment for the port and is currently driving various port digitalization and IT initiatives to deliver next generation multipurpose port capabilities for business, operational and customer solutions.

Wei Hoong spent 23 years in informational technology roles in various industries including the Maritime, Manufacturing, Automotive and Financial sectors. Prior to joining Jurong Port, he was the IT Director for Phillip Securities Pte Ltd and Senior General Manager, IT for Abdul Latif Jameel International based in Beirut. Wei Hoong holds a BSc in Information Systems and Computer Science, and Masters in Technology from the National University of Singapore.

Gabriel has earned a successful track record of maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction for clients he has served, as well as building and operating IT infrastructure businesses in Singapore and the region.

Michael Rodey is a Senior Innovation Strategy Manager in A.P. Moller-Maersk, the world’s largest transportation and logistics company. Through his time in Maersk, he has delivered upon various programs, bit it digital or technical. Michael was the head of Maersk’s Autonomous Tug program from 2015-2017 and he still heads the development of autonomous technology across Maersk with a current focus on the larger vessels in the fleet. Prior to Maersk, Michael worked for both Saudi Aramco and Statoil in a strategy and business development capacity; consulted in petroleum and management in a variety of different roles globally; and had various positions of which the highlight includes 4 years in the United States Marine Corps as a Non-Commissioned Officer.
